Alice could have been an earth mother-type if she weren't so sharp. She's interested in fundamentals, not frivolity, but appreciates a meaningful flourish. Her recipes are innovative and also timeless. Her books are comprehensive and rigorous, but never overwhelming. And her writing is in her voice, which is soothing and trustworthy and no-nonsense. She's going to recommend some books here, too. Placeholders in the meantime.
